Man free on bond in Best Buy theft arrested at Wal-Mart in The Villages

A man free on bond in a theft at Best Buy in Lady Lake was arrested six days later at Wal-Mart in The Villages.

Dwayne J. Bell, 32, of Fruitland Park, was arrested this past week after he attempted to flee Best Buy with stolen DVDs in a car with New York license plates. He was free on $1,500 bond.

He was arrested Sunday night at Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge Plaza.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were called to the store and found that Bell had tucked in his waistband a stealth cam monocular and a Bussmann fuse repair kit, according to the arrest report. In his pockets were Energizer AA batteries. In a backpack, he had 11 unused syringes, 45 grams of methamaphetamine and 139 Ziploc bags.

He was arrested on a host of drug charges, as well as misdemeanor theft charge.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $65,000 bond.
