A male suspect reportedly impersonated as a police officer in Ocala this past week.
A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded Wednesday to a residence located on 41st Place in reference to a suspicious incident, according to an incident report. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the resident who advised that around 8 a.m., an unknown white male suspect, wearing a law enforcement badge around his neck and a gun in a holster on his hip, came to her residence, the report stated. The resident told the deputy that the male subject did not identify himself, but was wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt with a tie and dark colored pants. The subject also had a slim build.
The subject impersonating an officer advised the resident that he was looking for a white male, who was balding with brown spots on the top of his head, who drives a gold Lexus. The impersonating officer drove a gray SUV that seemed to be a newer-style vehicle.
The deputy then made contact with another resident who advised that the same subject stopped by her residence. Teletype indicated that neither Ocala Police Department nor MCSO has had any contact with the incident locations.
