Marion County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes detectives arrested Angel Daniel Blanco, 28, after he shot 68-year-old Ronald Lee Rowley while they were inside a residence located at 13386 SW 86th Ave. in Marion Oaks, according to a MCSO media release. Investigation revealed that at around 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, Blanco and Rowley got into an altercation, and Blanco retrieved a handgun and shot Rowley, the report stated. Rowley was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he is currently in critical but stable condition. When MCSO deputies arrived on scene, a witness who was inside the home during the incident told deputies that Blanco left the residence in a red Hyundai Elantra, which prompted deputies to immediately begin their search for Blanco and his car.

MCSO’s Air One located Blanco’s vehicle at the 5800 block of SW College Road and deputies conducted a felony traffic stop on Blanco’s vehicle at SW 38th Court and SW College Road. Blanco was then taken into custody without incident, according to the release.

Blanco was being held in the Marion County Jail without bond.
