Marion sheriff asking for help in quest for K-9 grant

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is in the beginning stages of adding a new K-9 team to its roster.

But with a new K-9 team comes many expenses, such as vet bills, food, police gear and toys. But the sheriff’s office hopes to remedy that situation by receiving one of eight 2018 Aftermath K-9 grants totaling $16,500. And that’s where Marion County residents can help.

The sheriff’s office is asking everyone to vote for its K-9 unit. Voting already is under way and runs through Nov. 2. Citizens can vote once every 12 hours at www.aftermath.com/k9-grant/ and once a day on Instagram @aftermathk9grant.

The sheriff’s office is confident area citizens will vote as often as possible and they’d like to say thanks for the support they receive from area residents on a daily basis.
