Michael John Radomski

Michael John Radomski, age 29, of Wildwood, FL, formerly of Saddle Brook, NJ, tragically passed away on October 12, 2017. Beloved husband of Christina Mae (nee Schmidgall) formerly of Golden Valley, MN. Loving son of parents John and Alicia Radomski (nee Ralicki) of Saddle Brook, his cherished brother Brian, cousins Andrew and Katherine Ralicki, beloved Grandmother Stephanie Ralicki, Cioci Theresa Gilson and husband Robert, cousin Laura Niemira and her husband Edward, Uncle Ronald Radomski and his wife Barbara, cousins Christopher Radomski , Danielle, their children and Sharon Radomski.

Michael was raised in Saddle Brook, NJ. He was a parishioner of St. Leo’s Church in Elmwood Park. He graduated from Bergen Catholic High School, class of 2006. While a student there, he began his love of broadcasting and journalism as part of the BCTV morning show and as editor-in-chief for the school newspaper, “The Herald”. He continued his education at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT. He earned his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Journalism in 2010.

Upon graduation, Michael began his broadcasting career in Evansville, IN. During his 5 years with the Otters, Michael was a broadcaster, an account executive, and served as media relations director. He was the longest tenured radio broadcaster in Otters franchise history, calling over 550 games.
In 2014, he became the Director of Media Relations for the University of Evansville Purple Aces, where he oversaw media aspects for women’s basketball, baseball, and men’s and women’s soccer. It was at UE where Michael met the love of his life, Christina. They were married in Minnesota in June 2016.

Michael moved to Tampa, FL in 2015 to work at the University of South Florida. Initially he was responsible for the athletic communications involving baseball, volleyball, and sailing for the USF Bulls. In January of 2016, he was promoted to Assistant Director of Communications and oversaw the media aspects for men’s basketball, football, cross country, and track and field.

Michael’s infectious smile and kind heart will never be forgotten. He always made time for someone who needed help and was quick with a personal, handwritten thank you note. He was pure sunshine. To honor Michael, always remember to #RockThePlanet!

Gathering and visiting hours will be Thursday, October 19th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at Kugler Community Home For Funerals 311 Fifth Street Saddle Brook, NJ 07663 Tel. (973) 478-2500.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Leo’s Roman Catholic Church 324 Market Street Elmwood Park, NJ on Friday, October 20th at 10 AM. Interment to follow immediately after in St. Mary’s Cemetery 1 Outwater Lane Saddle Brook, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the “Michael John Radomski Memorial Scholarship Fund” to be established in honor of Michael.
