Mount Dora teenager killed in single-vehicle accident in Orange County

A Mount Dora teenager died as the result of a single-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon in Orange County.

Seth Hoover, 16, was pronounced dead at Florida Hospital in Apopka. He had not been wearing a seatbelt, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

He had been a passenger in a 2014 Ford four-door driven by 19-year-old Amen Allah of Apopka that had been eastbound on Ponkan Road shortly before 3 p.m. when he lost control and the vehicle left the roadway. He suffered minor injuries.

A second passenger from Mount Dora, 14-year-old Gabriel Hoover, was critically injured and transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

A donation page has been set up funeral and medical expenses.

Two additional passengers from Apopka were also injured.
