To the Editor:
Since so many seem to have had issues when going to the ER at The Villages Regional Hospital, I wanted to put in a GOOD WORD for the service I received there just this morning.
I awoke about 4 a.m. to find my right ear bleeding profusely. I got to TVRH Emergency Department about 4:30 a.m. I was IMMEDIATELY greeted by a “check-in” person and within five minutes was in a Triage room.
I waited less than five minutes for a real doctor to come in and determine the bleeding was due to my own fault being way to aggressive the night before with Q-Tips. She removed all the residue and cotton and cleared my ear so I could hear again. She also gave me instructions on further treatment. Within four minutes of her leaving the room, the “money collection person” came in and did her thing and honestly by 6 a.m. I was walking out of the hospital to return home. Yes, I was embarrassed at my own carelessness. This was the third time I’ve been to the ER at TVRH and never spent more than 2.5 hours total there, unlike Leesburg where I’ve twice had to wait 7 full hours to even get into a room. Thank you TVRH!
