A teen driver was ticketed as the result of a crash Monday night at the intersection of Rolling Acres Road and County Road 466.
Samuel Joseph Laufersky, 17, who lives in Oak Meadows located behind Rolling Acres Plaza, had been driving a 2003 Toyota four-door sedan at 6:12 p.m. traveling east on County Road 466, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
Laufersky was making a left turn and did not have a green arrow and turned into the path of a westbound 2015 Nissan utility vehicle driven by 47-year-old Kristina Van Amerongen of Summerfield, who had a green light. The vehicles collided in the intersection.
Laufersky was transported by Lake EMS to The Villages Regional Hospital.
He was ticketed on a charge of careless driving. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Laufersky’s Toyota is owned by his mother, Carol Laufersky, owner of Sammy Joe’s Pizzeria Cafe at Mulberry Grove Plaza in The Villages.
The teen’s father was ticketed in an accident at the same intersection in 2016.
