Ohio woman seriously injured when vehicle towing Airstream trailer overturns on I-75

An Ohio woman was seriously injured when a vehicle towing an Airstream trailer overturned Friday on Interstate 75 in Hillsborough County.

Joan Meadows, 69, of Cincinnati, had been a passenger in a 2008 Dodge Sprinter, which had been traveling at 3:33 p.m. northbound on I-75, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. The vehicle had been driven by 69-year-old Bruce E. Meadows, also of Cincinnati, who suffered minor injuries.

Their vehicle had come upon some slower-moving traffic and steered left to try to avoid a collision. Their vehicle struck a guardrail and overturned.

Both were transported by ambulance to Tampa General Hospital.
