Ollie Washburn, 83, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Ollie and Lorene, his loving wife of 56 years had lived in Florida for 21 years most recently in Wiersdale, moving here from Pittsburgh, PA. He served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Ollie was a corporate pilot for US Steel; retiring after 37 years as Chief Pilot. He was a quiet man, and was very deliberate and sincere when he spoke. He had many friends that he made while flying. Ollie loved to fly; built his own plane and last flew just 3 weeks before he passed away.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene; three sons, Ronnie Cody (Vickie), David Cody (Rhonda), Mike Cody (Lee) and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 4, 2016 at 11 a.m. with the funeral service following at 12 noon at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, Florida.
