Oxford man arrested on marijuana charge after spotted driving without headlights in Wildwood

A 24-year-old Oxford man was arrested on a marijuana possession charge after he was pulled over for driving without headlights Wednesday night in Wildwood.

Shacquile Javett Williams was pulled over at about 8 p.m. while heading north on Jackson Street, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. His headlights were not activated and his taillights were not operating either.

A police officer noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A plastic bag containing 2.5 grams of marijuana was discovered in his pocket.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. He was also issued a written warning for driving without activated lights.
