Police seek armed suspect who climbed fence into Water Oak

A suspect is being sought after he climbed a fence Friday night at Water Oak and eluded law enforcement.

The black male was pulled over by a Lady Lake police officer at about 9 p.m. on Lake Griffin Road. He then fled on foot and climbed a fence at the community of about 1,200 manufactured homes.

A Water Oak resident reported seeing the man running with a handgun.

A K-9 tracked him along the fence line then back over toward Lake Griffin.

The man was not captured, police said.

Detectives are working to identify him.

Water Oak management chose to call all of their residents, advising them to stay indoors.
