Police track down suspect in theft of motorcycle from The Quarters Apartments

Jesse Parker Burns

Police tracked down a suspect in the theft of a motorcycle from The Quarters Apartments in Lady Lake.

A 2012 Yamaha FZ-6R owned by a 30-year-old man who lives at the complex was stolen sometime Monday or Tuesday. A witness notified police that a dark-colored SUV was seen in the area of the complex with several scooters and motorcycles on a trailer it was pulling.

Lake County sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday afternoon in Altoona stopped 36-year-old Jesse Parker Burns, of Leesburg, after he was spotted riding a motorcycle without a license plate. Burns, who has a lengthy criminal history, was taken into custody on a Marion County warrant. He was later charged with grand theft after it was determined the motorcycle had been stolen from The Quarters Apartments.

Burns was booked at the Lake County Jail on $2,000 bond.

He had been arrested this past November after he was spotted riding a stolen motorcycle in Fruitland Park.
