Recreation Planation cleared another hurdle Monday night for its planned expansion.
The Lady Lake Commission voted 5-0 in favor of the expansion which would add 232 RV units to the existing 850 units on County Road 466. The expansion would occur on existing property off Clay Avenue, just north of the Oakleaf Apartments. It would also include a new clubhouse, swimming pool and other amenities.
Buddy Johnson of the nearby Villages Church of Christ once again expressed his concern about traffic in the area.
However, a traffic study submitted by the attorney representing Recreation Plantation indicated the expanded RV park would be less of a traffic burden than if a subdivision was built on the property.
In addition to expansion of the RV park, the developer wants to add pickelball courts, a clubhouse, swimming pool and a residents-only restaurant.
Last month, the Recreation Plantation project received the blessing of the Planning & Zoning Board. You can learn more about that HERE
