Rudolph Alfred Martin

Lt. Col. Rudolph Alfred Martin, USAF, Rtr, 96, of Oxford, FL, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017. Mr. Martin was born August 28, 1920 in Rock Creek, OH to Fred and Johanna (Brandt) Martin.

He began his military service in the Army Air Corp during WWII and also served during the Korean War retiring from the US Air Force. As a second career, Rudy sold insurance until he fully retired. He moved to Oxford in 2011 from Chickamauga, GA and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Oxford.

Survivors include his sons, Douglas R. Martin and Gregg Martin (Susan Aaronson); brothers, Virgil Martin and Freddie Martin; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Marty Orr (Maryann Marsh) and Karen Hall (Mike). Rudy was preceded in death by his wife, Margie on April 24, 2017 and daughter, Carol Martin.

Family and friends will celebrate Rudy’s life 10 a.m., Thursday, June 1, 2017 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel with interment in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
