The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has identified a man fatally shot Monday night in a Summerfield home invasion.

Shawn Michael King, 32, was armed with a handgun when he entered a home at 10420 SE 158th Place in the Sunset Harbor area and injured the homeowner’s dog.

The victim told deputies he barricaded himself in a room in the house to get away from King who attempted to forcefully enter the room. He shot King who then fled.
