Miami Heat specialty license plate

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has released a new Miami Heat specialty license plate.

The new plate is available in all tax collector and tag agency offices. And as of Oct. 1, there were 36,867 valid registrations of the specialty plate.

Floridians interested in purchasing the new Miami Heat plate are encouraged to visit their local tax collector or tag agency office. A list of locations can be found online flhsmv.gov/locations.

There will be a $25 specialty plate fee in addition to the other registration fees. Revenue from the sale of the plate is allocated to the Florida Professional Sports Development Trust Fund to attract and support major sports events in the state and economic development of the sports industry.

The Miami Heat specialty license plate was enacted by the Florida Legislature in 1994. A complete list of Florida’s specialty license plates can be found online at www.flhsmv.gov/dmv/specialtytags/.
