Stella Jandreau

Stella (Estelle) Jandreau, 89, a devoted wife for over 65 years and loving mother returned to the arms of Our Lord on October 29, 2018 at her home in Summerfield, Florida. Stella was born to Pascal and Alma (Toussaint) Caron, on August 1, 1929 in Saint Anne, New Brunswick, Canada where she worked hard on the family farm alongside her 9 brothers and sisters.

In 1950, she married the love of her life Alphie Jandreau. Stella and Alphie had three wonderful children which they raised in Caribou, Maine. Together they owned and operated Jandreau’s Grocery from 1960 until their retirement in 1986 as well as the Blue Lantern Cabins from 1960 to 1974. They eventually moved to Florida to embrace their retirement in the warm sunshine where they enjoyed many years of square dancing, spending time with family and friends, afternoons at the pool and fun evenings of playing cards.

Stella is survived by her children: a daughter Janice (Arthur) Jean of Niceville, FL; and two sons, Dale (Melinda) Jandreau of Port Saint Lucie, FL; and Scott (Christine) Jandreau of Canaan, NH, her grandchildren, Gannett (Jennifer) Jean of Galena, OH, Hagen Jandreau of Canaan, NH and Trevor Davidson of Edwards, CO. She is also survived by her four sisters: Rella Daigle; Della (James) Morneault: Simone (Bernice) Saucier, and Jeannette Pelletier, sisters-in-law, Aline Jandreau and Alvia Jandreau, brother-in-law Claude Dumond as well as many, many nieces and nephews. Stella was predeceased by her husband Alphie, her parents, one sister and four brothers.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 4, from 3 – 5 p.m. with a wake service at 4:30 p.m. at Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake, 134 North Hwy. 441. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 5, at 10 a.m. at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, 1351 Paige Place, Lady Lake, FL. Internment will be held Thursday, November 8, at 2 p.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL.
