A 20-year-old Summerfield man was arrested after allegedly punching his father in the face Thursday evening in a dispute over a bowl of nuts.

Tyler Lee Dugan of 8290 SE 159th Place was taken into custody by Marion County sheriff’s deputies on a charge of battery.

The father told deputies that Dugan had been “acting crazy” and was “growling” at him prior to the attack. The father had entered the kitchen and got a bowl of nuts and was attempting to leave the room to “get away from the situation” when Dugan pulled the bowl away and struck him in the face, according to the arrest report.

He was booked at the Marion County Jail.
