Summerfield man arrested after allegedly stealing Parrot Mambo mini-drone

Jason Anthony Pickrell

A 31-year-old Summerfield man was arrested after allegedly stealing a Parrot Mambo mini-drone from Target at Rolling Acres Plaza.

Jason Anthony Pickrell was arrested Monday on charges of petit theft and use of an anti-shoplifting control device after he was spotted by a Lady Lake police officer. Pickrell appeared to match a suspect who had been captured on video in previous thefts at the store.

Pickrell was near a vehicle with a female driver who allowed the officer to search her car. After discovering the mini-drone, the woman told the officer that Pickrell used a magnet “to defeat security devices.” A review of store surveillance showed Pickrell leaving the store with the mini-drone.

After he was booked at the Lake County Jail, multiple theft charges and charges of using an anti-shoplifting control device were added. Bond has been set at $14,000.
