A Marion County sheriff’s deputy observed a swerving maroon Ford sedan traveling northbound on U.S. Hwy. 301, according to an arrest report. Deputies initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at the 15200 block of U.S.  301, the report stated. Upon making contact with the driver, 59-year-old Donna Marie Hackett of Summerfield, deputies smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from Hackett’s breath. Deputies asked Hackett if she had any alcohol that evening, in which she responded that she had left Dallas Bar where she had four beers.

Hackett took part in sobriety exercises where at one point she stated, “I could not do this even if I was sober,” according to the report.

Hackett was placed under arrest and was transported to Marion County Jail. She provided breath samples registering .110 and .106 blood alcohol content. Bond was set at $1,000.
