Susan D. Giddens

Susan D. Giddens, 78, Leesburg, Florida, passed peacefully on November 25, 2018 at her residence with her beloved dog “Boo” and niece Nancy Woodside by her side. She was under the care of Hospice as well as an amazing community of friends and caregivers. Susan was born on October 26, 1940 in Charlotte, North Carolina to her parents Charles B. Douglas and Lydia (Meyer) Douglas.

She was a former Fashion Merchandiser and Sales Person in the Retail Sales Industry. She moved to Leesburg 23 years ago from Charlotte, North Carolina. She was of the Methodist faith, but attended St. Mark Lutheran Church, Leesburg, FL. She was a proud member of PAWS “People Helping Animals”. She was an avid reader, liked to play bridge and other card games. She enjoyed going out to dinner with her friends and family. Susan loved all her dogs she was blessed to have had.

She is survived by her sister and best friend: Helen D. Woodside of Baltimore, MD; a daughter: Helen Johnson and her husband Trevor of Texas; one granddaughter: Nicole Giddens of Florida, several loving nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved son’s Tommy Giddens and Charles Giddens.

There will be no services as per Susan’s request. Her burial will be private at Elmwood Cemetery in Charlotte, North Carolina in keeping with her wishes.
