Termination of employee at Sam’s Club ends with woman behind bars

Lashawnda Maye McGrew

The termination of an employee at Sam’s Club in Lady Lake ended with a woman behind bars.

Lashawnda Maye McGrew-Baker, 27, of Leesburg, had been terminated from the store and had been asked by the manager to leave at about 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. She refused to leave the premises.

Police arrived on the scene and as she was walking toward the exit door, she made several statements she would return to the location. She then made an aggressive move toward a police officer and attempted to re-enter a breakroom.

She was taken into custody on a charge of trespassing and booked at the Lake County Jail. She was released after posting $1,000 bond.
