Two drivers transported to hospital after three-car crash near golf cart bridge

Two drivers were transported by ambulance to The Villages Regional Hospital after a three-car crash near the golf cart bridge on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 in Lady Lake.

The chain-reaction collision occurred at 2:29 p.m. Saturday when 33-year-old Katie Maureen Cormier, who lives in the Oakleaf Village Apartment Homes in Lady Lake, had been at the wheel of 2008 Hyundai Elantra four-door that collided with the rear of a 2010 Honda Odyssey van driven by 43-year-old Kevin Adair Towles of Ocala, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The force of the collision pushed Towles’ van into the rear of 2015 Ford Explorer driven by 70-year-old Jearri Joann Bush of Clermont.

A three-car collision occurred Saturday afternoon on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 near the golf cart bridge.

Towles and Bush were taken to TVRH.

Cormier was ticketed on a charge of careless driving.
