A Marion County sheriff’s deputy was called to a Summerfield medical complex on Thursday after receiving reports of three cars being damaged in the facility’s parking lot.
When the deputy arrived, an employee of an office at the Spruce Creek Medical Center complex, located at 17820 SE 109th Ave., told him that her gray Dodge Durango had been keyed. The deputy asked if there were any disgruntled employees who were recently let go from the office and the woman said there was one, a sheriff’s office report states, adding that the woman’s husband added there are some disgruntled customers as well.
The deputy noted that the woman’s vehicle had been keyed on both the driver’s and passenger-side doors, as well as in the trunk area. The woman and her husband estimated the damage at $6,500, the report say.
The deputy then spoke with another employee whose vehicle, a Kia Sedona, had been keyed in a similar fashion. The deputy noted that the woman’s vehicle had “continuous marks” on the driver’s and passenger-side door and she estimated the damage at $5,000.
A third employee’s black Mazda CX-9 had similar scratches on the doors and the hood. The vehicle’s owner said she had left the car unlocked but nothing was taken. She also estimated the damage to her vehicle at $6,500, the report says.
