Vanna White dazzled fans Saturday at Spanish Springs Town Square in a promotional event for the Florida Lottery.

The lottery used the event to roll out the new $10 lottery game named after the “Wheel of Fortune” television show.

Last year, White came to Lake Sumter Landing to help the Florida Lottery introduce its $5 Wheel of Fortune game which generated $85 million in sales. Lines were long at the lottery stands located at Spanish Springs Town Square. This game will not be available statewide until April 11.

White’s fans waited patiently for her appearance. They came from all over the area. Some brought their best friends, like Sue Woodland of the Village of Hemingway with her Golden Doodle, Lola. Woodland has been a big fan of the game show since she was a youngster.

Others brought their grandchildren, like Lillian Herzog who brought her 9-month-old grandson, Shaun.

“He likes to stand in front of the television when the show comes on,” she said.

White answered the crowd’s questions about the show. She said they shoot six shows a day, four times a month.

When asked how far she has traveled for the show she said “two million, nine hundred thousand miles.”

The show has been in production for 34 years.

When asked how she stays in such good shape, she told the crowd that she works out five times per week. Her workout includes spinning classes, Pilates and some weight training. One audience member asked about the dresses White wears on the show. She explained that she is given 12 dresses per show to choose from and that she prefers those with stretch fabrics.

“And ladies, I don’t get to keep the dresses after the show. But the shoes are mine and so is the jewelry, which is fake,” she said.
White signed autographs and posed for pictures after the Q&A session for more than an hour.
