Alex Hoyle

A Village of Hadley resident was arrested on a drunk driving charge after he was found sleeping in his SUV.

A Lake County sheriff’s deputy responded shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday to an intersection on Simon Brown Road in Groveland after a homeowner noticed a parked SUV. The SUV had been parked at the location for more than an hour, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver was identified as 36-year-old Alex Hoyle, of 2648 Landale Loop, and his “eyes were very red and bloodshot,” the arrest report said.

Hoyle failed field sobriety exercises and refused to submit a breath sample.

He was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence and booked at the Lake County Jail. Bond was set at $1,000.
