Villager arrested on shoplifting charge at Kohl’s tells police officer he was ‘heavily medicated’

A Village of Sabal Chase man arrested on a shoplifting charge at Kohl’s, told a police officer he was “heavily medicated” when he allegedly attempted to steal merchandise.

Frank Cordray, 64, entered the store July 14 and selected three pairs of jeans, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. He went into the dressing room and re-emerged wearing a different pair of jeans. He then selected a salmon-colored polo shirt and concealed it under his shirt, the report indicated.

After he left the store, a loss prevention officer asked Cordray to come back inside.

When a police officer arrived on the scene, Cordray said he “did something stupid.” He claimed he was heavily medicated on Naproxen and Lyrica, the report said.

He was issued a notice to appear in court on a charge of shoplifting.

The clothing was valued at $77.99.
