Dr. John Williams, director of Total Joint Replacement at the Advanced Orthopedic Institute in The Villages, known to most as an orthopedic surgeon, will step out of that role and become Bob Marley, performing with his band John Truth and Reflexx at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 at La Hacienda Recreation Center.
Williams performs reggae concerts with his Philadelphia-based Bob Marley tribute band a couple of times a year in The Villages. He and his band have developed quite a following. Their shows always brings out a big crowd of reggae lovers and former patients. Williams promises an energy-packed, two-hour, non-stop show.
A life-long Bob Marley fan, Williams began performing with Reflexx, as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist, when he lived in Philadelphia. The band now leaves their home-base and travels to Florida to perform with their friend, John Truth. Williams said the band always enjoys traveling to Florida and performing in The Villages. And he said he and the band always enjoy bringing the energy of Bob Marley to The Villages.
Williams organizes these concerts as fundraisers. Proceeds from his November concert will benefit The Villages Regional Hospital Auxiliary Foundation.
Tickets can be purchased at William’s office in the Sharon L. Morse Medical Center, 1400 U.S. Hwy. 441 North, Suite 552, or by calling 751-2862. Advance tickets are $25. If any tickets are still available, they will be sold at the door for $30.
