Villages Friendly Folks organize supplies for victims of Hurricane Irma

The Facebook group Villages Friendly Folks, a group with more than 5,300 members, spent Thursday distributing water, food, and toiletries to Villagers who lost power during Hurricane Irma.

Volunteers have delivered meals to homebound individuals as well as maintaining a location at the Paradise Recreation Center for people to pick up needed supplies.

The Villages Recreation Department has opened the Rita Hayworth Room located in the Paradise Recreation Center to the group for further distribution between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Friday.
