To the Editor:
A number of villagers have written about unsatisfactory experiences with The Villages Regional Hospital. These complaints were related to speed and quality of service ie how fast was their malady diagnosed and treated.
CEO Don Henderson responded with data related to hospital-acquired disease rate reduction. These are totally different things. To brag about reductions in hospital-acquired diseases is akin to an “I beat my wife less now” statement. You go to a hospital to get better, not acquire another malady. The target for this metric should be zero.
Henderson would have been better to admit the outages and outline the plans to improve.
