Villages Theater Company to perform summer drama to raise money for charities

The Villages Theater Company will premier a summer drama called “Fridays” at the Mulberry Grove Recreation Center to raise funds to support the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and Camp Boggy Creek.

Performances will be given on July 28, 29 and 31 at 2 p.m. A night performance will be offered at 7 p.m. July 30.

A weekly Friday night poker game brings camaraderie, loyalty and tradition through men’s eyes. This touching and humorous play uses the “basement” card game to pit varying views on aging, sex, love, death and friendship. It is a story of bonding and personal relationships with which both men and women can relate.

“Fridays” is directed by Steve Rubin and is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.

Tickets are available at the door for $5 on a first come first serve basis starting at 1:30 p.m.on July 28, 29 and 31, and also on July 30 at 6:30 p.m.
