Beach-bound Summerfield man accused of terrorizing woman during road-side spat

Brian Dorian Fournier-Wenz

A Summerfield man is in the Marion County Jail after allegedly terrorizing a woman and leaving her on the side of the road after an altercation that started while they were on the way to the beach.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded Tuesday to the report of an aggravated assault that occurred near the 10400 block of NE 100th Street in Fort McCoy. The man who called 911 told the deputy he was driving home when he saw a black sedan parked in the middle of the road with a woman standing behind the vehicle and a man – later identified as 32-year-old Brian Fournier-Wenz – standing alongside it.

The witness said Fournier-Wenz told him everything was fine, and that the victim was just high on methamphetamine. The witness said Fournier-Wenz then got in his car and drove away. The witness said he didn’t observe any blood or injuries on the victim, but he did see broken glass near the vehicle, a sheriff’s office report states.

The victim told the deputy that Fournier-Wenz threatened to kill her with a knife. She said the incident occurred while they were driving to the beach. She said Fournier-Wenz was not acting like himself and started having delusions, according to the report.

The victim said Fournier-Wenz then drove her to an unknown road and told her to get out of the car. She said she got into the driver’s seat and locked the doors to the vehicle. According to the report, the victim said Fournier-Wenz used his bare fist to break the driver’s side window, grabbed her and dragged her out of the window. The victim said she sustained cuts on the back of her thighs from rubbing against the shattered glass on the seat and the ground, the report says.

The deputy observed numerous small cuts on the back of the victim’s thighs, as well as blood on her ankle that did not appear to be hers. The deputy also observed numerous blood stains on the victim’s clothing that she said came from his injured hand.

The victim said the Fournier-Wenz told her to get back in the vehicle and then subsequently told her to get out of the vehicle again. She said Fournier-Wenz repeatedly told her to get in and out of the vehicle approximately six times. The victim said at one point, Fournier-Wenz took out a knife, pointed it at her face and allegedly said he was going to kill her and dump her body in the woods, the report says, adding that she feared for her life.

The deputy made contact the next day with Fournier-Wenz, who said he couldn’t remember anything that happened and was unable to answer any questions. Fournier-Wenz was found to be in possession of a black knife that matched the description the victim provided, the report said.

Fournier-Wenz, whose address is listed as SE 145th Street in Summerfield, was charged with aggravated domestic assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and battery. He’s being held $21,000 bond and will answer to the charges in Marion County Court on April 30.
