Chair of the Hadassah Medical Organization to speak Wednesday at Temple Shalom

Dr. Rachel Schonberger, chair of the Hadassah Medical Organization, will present The Medical Advancements at Hadassah Hospital on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at Temple Shalom of Central Florida.

Hadassah Medical Research has been on the leading edge of new technology in the areas of organ transplants, macular degeneration and bone marrow transplants. The speaker will discuss accomplishments and research.  Dr. Schonberger, an elected member of the Hadassah National Board and Resource Chair of the Super South, served as President of Greater Atlanta Chapter and President of Hadassah Southeastern. She led the committee that established the first accredited continuing medical education course sponsored by Hadassah for physicians in Jerusalem.

A graduate of Temple Medical School, Schonberger was on the faculty of Emory University Medical School, providing primary care to patients in Grady Hospital’s Neighborhood Health Centers from 1976 – 2005.

The program, presented by The Temple Shalom Israel Solidarity Committee and the Tri-County Chapter of Hadassah  will start at 6:30 pm. It is free and open to the public.
