Well-known realtor in The Villages ordered by judge to stay away from booze

Scott Hubbard

A well-known realtor in The Villages has been ordered by a judge to stay away from booze.

Scott William Hubbard, 47, who lives on Foxgrove Avenue near Nancy Lopez Legacy Country Club, was sentenced last month in Lake County Court after his arrest in June on a charge of driving under the influence.

The ERA Grizzard Real Estate agent will lose his driver’s license for six months, has been ordered to perform 50 hours of community service, and must seek an alcohol evaluation and follow recommended treatment. The judge also ordered Hubbard not to consume or possess alcohol. He has been placed on probation for 12 months, but can seek early termination after six months if he has been in full compliance.

Hubbard was driving a white Ford F-150 with the distinctive license plate, SEL NTV, at 8:51 p.m. June 21 when he was pulled over at Main Street and College Avenue in Leesburg. He had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and it smelled as if he had been drinking, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. During field sobriety exercises, Hubbard made an incomplete turn and lost his balance. He told the police officer he no longer wanted to take part in the exercises and refused to attempt a one-legged stand. As his truck was being prepared to be towed from the scene, an open 12-ounce bottle of Corona was discovered in it. Hubbard refused to provide a breath sample.

Hubbard turned the truck over on Sept. 5 for a 10-day impoundment as part of the sentence.
