The wife of the Villager known as the “infatuated” shooter, has had her husband served with divorce papers while he is behind bars.

Howard Sparber, 69, continues to be held without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center following his arrest earlier this year after he allegedly fired 33 rounds into the home of a neighbor lady with whom he had admittedly become infatuated. Sparber, who appeared to have been drinking, was arrested June 20 on Landale Loop in the Village of Hadley. The woman who was the object of his affection was not home at the time. Now Sparber’s wife has filed for divorce. She has retained Ocala divorce attorney Anne E. Raduns.

Howard Sparber’s attorney Pakiza Sajid, in trying to win her client’s freedom in a bond hearing last month, tried to portray her client as someone who was wasn’t a flight risk. She had argued that his marriage was one of the reasons he would not try to flee. She even offered to have her client monitored by GPS at home. However, in that same hearing, a prosecutor indicated that Sparber’s wife didn’t want him to come home.
