Wildwood leaders approve site plans for assisted living centers, Villages of Southern Oaks

Approval of site plans for two assisted living centers and plats for three Villages of Southern Oaks neighborhoods were among several land-use decisions made Monday night by the Wildwood City Commission.

The 174,109-square-foot, four-story Trailwinds Senior Living Center will be located in Trailwinds Village, on the north side of County Road 466A, next to the Sandhill Golf Course. The 10.84-acre site also includes 74 parking spaces, a driveway and other improvements.

The developer of the 176-unit center is Legacy Lifestyles of Palm Harbor.

The 75-foot-tall center will be built around a central courtyard with several wings and is expected to have about 30 employees.

Commissioners also approved a site plan for a 60,217-square-foot, single-story assisted living center called Yourlife of Wildwood on seven acres along Powell Road at Broken Oak Drive.

As the giant Villages of Southern Oaks continues to grow from the Village of Fenney and past the Florida Turnpike to State Road 44, commissioners approved plats for three neighborhoods.

All three subdivisions will be near Warm Springs Avenue (County Road 468) and Fenney Way southwest of the Florida Turnpike. They include 79 home sites on about 50 acres in Unit 18; 81 single-family sites on 20 acres in Unit 19; and 60 lots in the Haven Villas subdivision.

In other land-use decisions, the commission approved:

  • A site plan for a 10,000-square-foot, one-story building for Lake Eye Associates on 4.8 acres south of SR 44 about a quarter mile east of Buena Vista Boulevard.
  • Dividing the 154-acre Beaumont property into two lots north of CR 466A, east of County Road 462.
  • Rezoning the Village of Faith Baptist Church property along CR 462 to make way for the church’s expansion.
