A Wildwood man who failed to stop at a stop sign was arrested after he was found to be in possession of marijuana.
Beau James Shaver, 32, was driving a black pickup at 11:15 p.m. Monday when he failed to stop at the intersection of Wildwood Avenue and Broken Oak Drive.
A Wildwood police officer began to follow Shaver’s truck and noticed the odor of burning marijuana.
During a traffic stop, Shaver said he did not see the stop sign and was “sorry,” according to the arrest report. A search of the vehicle turned up a Newport Cigarette box that contained a partially smoked marijuana “blunt.” In addition, marijuana was found in the vehicle’s center console.
He was arrested on a charge of marijuana and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. He was also issued a written warning for the traffic violation. Bond was set at $100.
