William David ‘Bill’ Barbieux

William David (Bill) Barbieux, of Fruitland Park, FL, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2017. Mr. Barbieux was born in Hazard, Kentucky to Vera Davis and August Barbieux on April 20, 1927.

He served in the Army and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University where he played basketball and tennis. He moved to Leesburg in 1950 where he worked for 64 years for Inland Fruit Company, first as employee and then as owner and president.

He was a member and deacon of First Presbyterian Church of Leesburg, director of Golden Gem, Quality Growers Association, Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association and the American Trucking Association, and board member of Leesburg Elks Lodge No. 1703. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed travel, particularly to San Francisco, which he visited regularly.

Mr. Barbieux is survived by his wife Jann K. Barbieux, four daughters, Elizabeth (Betsy) Barbieux of Leesburg, Rebecca (Becky) Stoer of Crystal River, Janna Adams Tess of Sydney, and Shae Barbieux of Dallas; six grandchildren, John Jacob (Jake) Stoer III, Kimberley Myers, Adam Howard, Andrew and David Tess, and William Snodgrass; and three great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Leesburg, FL.
