Woman to answer in court after allegedly stuffing socks, tank top into purse at Belk

A woman will have to answer in court after allegedly stuffing five packages of socks and a tank top into her purse at Belk at La Plaza Grande in The Villages.

Laura Louise Lockhart, 25, of Leesburg entered the store Nov. 24 and put the items in her purse and attempted to leave the store without paying for the items, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

She admitted she had taken the items, valued at $108.

She was ordered to stay out of the store and appear Dec. 13 in Lake County Court.
