Woman choking on hamburger crashes into yard in Village of Duval

A 70-year-old woman who said she had choked on a hamburger crashed into a yard Saturday night in the Village of Duval.

The accident happened at 7:20 p.m. in the 1100 block of Barker Way, just south of Odell Circle at Canal Street. The woman’s vehicle struck a transformer pole.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and The Villages Public Safety Department responded to the scene. The investigation has been turned over to the Florida Highway Patrol.
