Woman sought in Tennessee Medicaid fraud case nabbed in Marion County

An Ocala woman was arrested Monday as an out-of-state fugitive on a Tennessee warrant.

Desiree Larea McIntyre, 29, was taken into custody at her home at 8274 NW 42nd St. shortly after noon. She was wanted on the Tennessee warrant for three counts of fraudulently receiving TennCare, which is the state of Tennessee’s Medicaid program.

McIntyre was booked into the Marion County Jail at 12:48 p.m. Monday and released the following night at 9:34 p.m. on her recognizance, records show. She is scheduled to appear in a Marion County courtroom Oct. 18 at 9 a.m.

McIntyre also was arrested on Aug. 3 in relation to the same case and was held eight days before being released on $3,500 bond.
