Amid the protests, Ann Coulter appeared to be oblivious to the demonstration that had taken place at Barnes& Noble on Saturday afternoon as she chewed on Nicorette gum to calm herself.
When questioned about her thoughts regarding the protest due to her recent comments, Coulter remarked that the protesters were “probably Mexicans.”
She went on to say that her new book includes a chapter that the protestors could read because of its “Pro-Israel” sentiments and comments on Israel’s policy on immigration.
Coulter joked by saying that she was finished with the Israel comment and had moved onto commenting on Pope Francis. She was then informed that the protestors were also present because of her anti-Catholic statements.
“It’s not about the Pope, not about Israel, it’s about immigration,” Coulter in an interview with Villages-News.com in a back room at the Lake Sumter Landing bookseller.
She was explaining the thesis of her new book, “Adios America.”
Coulter proclaimed her support for GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump, who has also been outspoken on the topic of immigration.
“I’m 100 percent for Trump,” she said, adding he is a “genuine populist candidate.”
Although the large crowd of protesters occupied the front parking lot of Barnes & Noble, a large turnout of Coulter fans lined up with much excitement to meet the firebrand conservative.

“I watch Ann on TV and she is a Donald Trump supporter as I am,” said Nancy Nicols of Charlotte. “I can’t wait to read the book.”
Paul and Heidi Prester of the Village of Woodbury were delighted to meet Coulter and bought a copy of her book as a birthday gift for their son, Rob.
Despite negative opinions toward Coulter’s outspoken personality, a lot of her fans admire her steadfastness in standing for the things in which she believes.
“She seems like a very sincere person, and I enjoyed meeting her,” said Bud Ruter of the Village of Largo.
The book signing lasted for almost an hour and a half, which is how long the demonstration had taken place as well. While Coulter was signing books inside and happily greeting fans, passionate protestors peacefully continued to wave their flags and signs while singing traditional songs such as Shalom Alechel.

“I think it’s totally un-American when someone fuses flames of bigotry,” said Steve Lowe of Temple Shalom. “This is an informational demonstration against racial bigotry.”
