Newberry man killed when truck leaves roadway, strikes tree

A 48-year-old Newberry man was killed when his truck left the roadway and struck a tree Saturday night in Alachua County.

Tracy Eugene Tindall, 48, had been at the wheel of a 2005 Ford F-150 at 10:45 p.m. Saturday when his truck left the roadway and struck a tree on U.S. Hwy. 27 four miles south of Newberry, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway. Tindall was ejected from the vehicle as the truck’s door had been damaged in the collision with the tree.

Alachua County Fire Rescue responded to the scene of the collision and pronounced Tindall dead upon their arrival. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
