Ocala Fire Rescue crews rushed to an early morning fire at a commercial trucking business Friday.
Two engines, a rescue unit and a battalion chief all responded to the 6:46 a.m. blaze, which was in the 1300 block of SW 42nd Ave. in Ocala.
When crews arrived, the cab of a tractor trailer was fully engulfed in flames. Units approaching the area reported seeing a large black column of smoke rising above the blaze.
The crew from Engine 4 encountered a locked gate at the business upon arrival but was able to use bolt cutters and enter the property to fight the blaze, which was confined to the semi-truck.
In addition, crews from Engine 3 and Rescue 4, as well as Battalion Chief 22, handled the fire, which required about 2,000 gallons of fuel to extinguish, an Ocala Fire Rescue report states, adding that no one was injured in the incident.
