The Belvedere Gate, near the Villages Charter School, will soon see some changes.
Work is scheduled to begin Wednesday.
The work will include installing an electronic gate operator for the golf cart lane at that location.
“The Belvedere gate has been an area of concern for both residents and District staff due to the fact that golf carts currently are not required to slow down,” said Sam Wartinbee, director of District Property Management.
The golf cart lane gate will be located in front of the existing gate, which will allow drivers to see if a golf cart is approaching.
“It is our intent that the new gate will improve the interactions between automobiles and golf carts. Please
use caution in this area while the work is being completed,” Wartinbee said
