Forte falls short, but leaves lasting impression on AGT

Fernando Varela gives emotional performance on AGT

After a season filled with memorable performances, Fernando Varela and Forte have a lot to be proud of. Although they didn’t claim the top prize on Seasons 8 of America’s Got Talent, they left a lasting impression on all and established a national fan base in a matter of months.

The “dream” that Fernando referred to on Tuesday night will certainly live on, as the group will surely garner record label attention. As recent seasons of both America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent have proven, the exposure offered to groups with this level of talent is invaluable, and most have no trouble finding professional success even without winning the $1,000,000 top prize.

Before the winner was chosen, the stage was filled with performances by the Rockettes, Icona Pop and Earth, Wind and Fire. In addition to these performances, each of the finalists performed with a celebrity accompaniment.

Cami Bradley serenaded the audience with the help of Gavin Degraw. Il Divo and Heather Headley gave a performance highlighted by the technical dancing of Kenichi Ebina (the season 8 winner). Collins Key performed his illusions with the assistance of magical aids Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. And Forte performed with grammy-award winning artist Josh Groban.
