In the days when Quentel Williams was on the run after he is believed to have shot a Wildwood convenience store owner, he had friends take him to his father’s home in Orlando.
Upon arriving at his father’s residence, father and son got into a heated argument, according to an arrest affadavit from the Wildwood Police Department.
The records indicate that the 23-year-old Williams told his father he had shot Abdelwahab Kandah, a Wildwood father of four, on Aug. 10. Kandah was fatally wounded in the parking lot of Kamal’s Mini Mart on 327 Kilgore St. in Wildwood. Video surveillance shows the exchange took 12 seconds.
“That was stupid, why did you do that?” the father is said to have asked his son, according to police records.
Quentell Williams’ reply to his father was to the point:
“Because I can’t get a job.”
