A man tried to commit suicide at about 4 p.m. Wednesday when Lady Lake Police arrived to investigate a domestic violence complaint.
When police arrived at the residence on Shenandoah Avenue, the man tried to slit his own throat, said Lady Lake Police Chief Chris McKinstry.
Lake EMS was immediately called to the scene. The man was flown by helicopter to Ocala Regional Medical Center.
At the moment, the man isn’t facing any charges.
However, investigators will follow up on the case when the man’s health improves, McKinstry said.
