Singing alongside his wife, Fernando Varela’s festive tunes filled the air last night. Fernando’s musical director, Kyle Mattingly, accompanied the couple while they belted out a dozen songs. The pews of St Paul’s Parish in Belleview were filled with adoring fans for duration of the show.

The couple began the night with a duet and took turns commanding the stage with their songs. Every song included was accompanied by a story on what the song meant to the couple. They indicated that the classic Christmas song, “Noel,” was actually the song that brought them together as a couple.

Fernando referred to Belleview and the Parish as being his real home, and was grateful to spend time there after spending weeks on the road performing. Fernando’s congregation is very supportive of his dream, generously giving of their time and contributions to help him on his quest.

Fernando will make another appearance Dec. 24 at St Paul’s Parish in Belleview.
